Transport workers in Bangladesh’s capital city have reportedly assaulted protesting students.
The students created blockades for a fourth day, demanding safety on the roads of Dhaka after two students were killed on Sunday 29 July when a bus ploughed into a group of people on Airport Road.
Protesters have since vandalised buses and set a number on fire.
Sources say four students were handed over to police after being beat up by a mob of transport workers.
The workers are said to have created their own blockade, causing severe gridlock in parts of the city, as they demand security from authorities.
