An auto-driver assaulted a woman police officer after she stopped him from parking in the middle of the road near Dombivali railway station, in India.
29-year-old Ravi Gupta first ignored Constable Sunita Nandmaher’s warning whistles and then started cursing her after she approached him.
The incident which took place on Sunday at around 12pm saw Gupta thrash the police officer before tossing her into a drain.
"He stopped the auto after crossing Thakurli and began hitting me in the face," said Nandmaher.
The injured constable filed a complaint, and officials hunted down Gupta. A senior officer from Ram Nagar police station said they “will ensure Gupta gets a strict punishment for assaulting a policewoman.”
