Drug racket ringleader arrested in Delhi

The ringleader of a major drugs racket has been arrested in Delhi.

The linchpin of a cartel suspected with supplying heroin to the streets of northern India, identified as Nizam, was apprehended by police who infiltrated the accused’s network by interrogating two of his associates that they had arrested last week.

It is believed that the drugs were sourced in Myanmar and where distributed across the north and northeast of India by a fleet of trucks, organised by Nizam.

The suspect was intercepted prior to his train journey into Delhi.
