Eight killed in Lahore Sufi shrine blast

At least eight people have been killed in a suspected suicide attack outside a Sufi Muslim shrine in Lahore.

Authorities said a police van was the primary target, with five police officers reportedly among the dead.

The blast has been claimed by the Hizbul Ahrar, a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban.

Police said, although there was no specific threat against the Data Darbar shrine, worshippers should remain vigilant during the month of Ramadan.
