Explosion in Manipur

Officials have confirmed reports of a potentially fatal bomb explosion in the Kamjong district of the North-eastern Indian state of Manipur.

Local Police have stated the explosion took place at about 3.30 pm on Kongal road. Some members of the public have suffered minor injuries but there were no fatalities.

No group or individual has taken responsibility for the incident and the motives are still unclear. A large number of security forces will remain in the area while the investigation continues.
