Father sells four-month-old baby girl

An undercover operation executed by Hyderabad police in India has successfully lead to the arrest of three people trying to sell a four-month-old baby girl.

The girl was sold to a couple in the Visakhapatnam city in Andhra Pradesh under the guise of adoption. Those arrested include the child’s father and two brokers.

It is alleged the father beaten and threatened to divorce the mother if she did not agree to the fake adoption.

The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been rescued and returned to her biological mother.
