The former editor of a high-profile magazine in India has been charged with rape.
Tarun Tejpal, who was previously employed as editor of the investigative magazine Tehelka, has pleaded not guilty at a court in Mapusa in the western state of Goa to the rape, sexual harassment and wrongful restraint of a former colleague.
The accuser, who has remained anonymous, has alleged that he assaulted her at an event organised by Tehelka in Goa in November 2013.
The incident has caused some observers to accuse the magazine, known for its investigative work into gender inequality, of double standards.
The case will be next heard on 21 November.
