A former Lahore High Court judge was shot dead whilst returning from his native village.
Chaudhry Mahmood Akhtar, 70, who was practicing as a lawyer in Rawalpindi, was intercepted in his car by an unknown armed man near Turkwal Village.
The man opened fire, killing the former judge on the spot and injuring his niece. She is said to be in a stable condition.
Local police have begun investigations, with officials claiming Mr Akhtar may have been killed over an old enmity.
