Indian officials claim 41 people have died after Cyclone Fani hit the country’s east coast.
The highest number of 21 deaths were reported from the worst-hit Puri district in Odisha state.
The Hindustan Times reports that the state government is hoping to step up efforts to restore power and telecoms infrastructure with the help of other states.
Over 5,000 skilled workers along with equipment are on their way to Odisha from states including West Bengal and Telangana.
