Four men in India are accused of preserving their mother’s body to claim her pension.
The brothers allegedly kept the 70-year-old in conserving chemicals for five months in the Kabir Nagar area of Varanasi.
The family have claimed their innocence, saying their mother had fallen into a coma and was kept at home.
Authorities said the exact cause of the death would be clear after the post-mortem.
