Hindu pilgrims have been killed in a militant attack in Kashmir.
It is believed seven people, six of them women, have been killed after their bus was allegedly caught in crossfire in Indian-administered Kashmir.
19 others have also been injured. They have been taken to a local district hospital for treatment.
Reports say the bus was returning from the Amarnath Cave pilgrimage site in the Anantnag district when the attack took place.
The driver has been praised, who did not stop the bus until reaching an army convoy around 2km away from the site of the attack.
Police officials who spoke to the BBC said the target appeared to be a nearby counter-insurgency base.
The incident is likely to heighten tensions in the disputed region.
