India adopts ‘worlds strongest’ net neutrality rules

    India is to adopt a system of rules for internet neutrality – lauded by experts for being the “strongest” in the world.

    The guidelines mean service providers must treat all internet traffic equally, and not charge differently based on content.

    The recommendations explicitly forbid operators from throttling data speeds for any online service, with the aim of providing equal access to all approximately 500 million internet users in the country.
