India’s Supreme Court has ruled that a viral song featuring a girl’s wink will not be taken down.
The music video, featuring Priya Varrier winking to a schoolmate, swept the nation – with Ms Varrier becoming one of the most searched for Indian people on the internet.
However, a Muslim group accused her of blasphemy and registered a case demanding that the song be dropped from an upcoming film.
They claimed the video used a "sacred song" that refers to the Prophet Mohammed's wife and also said winking was forbidden in Islam.
The actress said the complainants had "misunderstood" the song.
The court dismissed the case, the proceedings of which have delayed the original release date.
