India’s Election Commission has blocked the release of a film biopic of incumbent leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The commission barred the screening during the polling period for India’s general election, stating that any such film that serves purpose for any political entity or individual should not be displayed.
The order came a day before both the film was due to be released and the start of voting.
