The prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, has claimed that all villages in the country now have access to electricity.
A remote village in the north-eastern state of Manipur became the last to be connected to the grid over the weekend.
Mr Modi said all of nearly 600,000 villages in India have now been given electricity connection.
However, World Bank figures show around 200 million people in India still lack access to electricity.
A village is considered to have access to electricity if all of its public buildings are connected and only 10% of homes.
