A self-styled spiritual guru has committed suicide in India.
Reports say Bhaiyyuji Maharaj shot himself in the head at his residence in the central Indian city of Indore.
He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Maharaj was known for his work towards land reforms, water conservation and farmers’ welfare. He had also declined an offer to be recognised as a state minister.
