Indian girl allegedly raped by teachers critical after abortion

An Indian girl who was allegedly raped by her teachers is reported to be in a critical condition after being forced to have an abortion.

It is alleged the teenager was raped by two school staff in the northern state of Rajasthan over the course of three months.

It is claimed she lost consciousness after being forced to undergo an abortion by the accused. Doctors speaking to the BBC said the girl has suffered brain damage.

It is still unclear what went wrong at the hospital but the incident has sparked outrage in the community as locals staged a protest outside the school grounds.
