A journalist in India and two policemen are understood to have been killed in an alleged attack by a Maoist militant group.
The officers and a cameraman from India’s national broadcaster, Doordarshan, were ambushed in the central state of Chhattisgarh, which is often hit by Maoist violence.
According to the broadcaster, a TV crew was in the area to cover upcoming state elections.
The attack comes days after rebels blew up a vehicle of India's central paramilitary force, killing four personnel.
Maoist rebels claim to oppose mineral extraction in the area and that they are fighting for communist rule and greater rights for tribal people and the rural poor.
