Two lovers in India have been accused of murdering the woman’s husband and planning to replace him after the male lover received cosmetic surgery.
Police in the southern state of Telangana said the pair staged an acid attack on the man and deceived the deceased husband’s parents in believing it was their son, who paid for the hospital treatment.
The lovers were then going to seek cosmetic surgery but the husband’s brother suspected a plot and complained to police.
Fingerprint testing discovered the brother’s suspicions were correct.
The husband is believed to have been killed on 26 November, though his body has not yet been found.
The wife has been arrested and the male lover will be taken into custody once he has recovered from his acid injuries.
