Investigation after Indian school locked girls in basement

Police in India are investigating allegations that a school in Delhi locked pupils in a basement.

The all girls’ school is accused of detaining 16 students for five hours. Reports say the motive was unpaid fees by parents.

All the detained girls are believed to be between four and six-years-old.

School officials told local media that the students were kept in an "activity centre" but did not provide further comment.
