An investigation has been ordered into allegations of extra-judicial executions by security forces in India.
India's Supreme Court has ordered the inquiry to examine multiple civilian deaths between 1979 and 2012 in the north-eastern state of Manipur.
Activists claim that troops have killed more than 1,500 people in the state in the past four decades.
Officials deny the allegations and accuse insurgent groups for being responsible.
The groups have been fighting for independence in the region.
