Officials at the Indian Space Research Organisation have expressed an intense level of focus ahead of the Chandrayaan-2 space mission’s arrival; on the moon’s surface.
The Vikram space lander is expected to ‘soft land’ on the moon’s south pole on Saturday, and officials at the Indian Space Research Organisation have stated that “everything humanly possible” has been done in order to ensure the mission’s successful landing.
Speaking to the press on the impending landing, a mission official said: "Everybody is tight-lipped. I am also tight-lipped. Let the event be over.
"Every body's mind is only on what's happening in the spacecraft and lander. Let's all pray for the successful soft-landing,"
The Vikram lander is expected to touch down on the moon in the early hours of Saturday morning.
