Jet Airways flight attendant held for money smuggling

A Jet Airways flight attendant has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly $500,000 (£368,580) in foreign exchange out of India.

The female member of staff was caught with money in her luggage on a flight from Delhi to Hong Kong. The cash was reportedly made up of mostly $100 notes, wrapped in foil paper.

A man was also taken into custody in connection with the incident and an official claimed more arrests may be made.

Some local media reports say it is suspected the money was to be used to purchase gold from abroad.
