Man arrested after he stabbed ‘cheating’ wife to death in an auto

Mumbai police have arrested a 30-year-old man in the Kalyan district of Maharashtra for stabbing his wife to death inside an auto rickshaw near the Goregaon railway station in Mumbai.

Local police initially assumed that the 28 year old victim Geeta Dubey was killed by an unknown individual but started to suspect her husband, Prasad Rawat when he did not turn up at the police station even after being informed of his wife’s brutal murder.

In a statement to the police the driver of the rickshaw said, "A man entered my vehicle, stabbed the woman three times in the neck and ran away."

As the investigation continues Rawat will be kept in police custody.
