A man has been arrested in Pakistan for allegedly attempting to rape a teenager.
The incident is claimed to have taken place in the Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab when a 12-year-old girl was dragged from the street into the suspect's house as she was on her way to a religious seminary early in the morning.
The victim managed to draw attention from people in the area. The suspect fled the scene as they arrived to rescue the girl.
The accused, who runs a clothing shop in the area, has been arrested on charges of attempting rape on a minor.
This incident comes days after widespread outrage and protest demonstrations erupted across the country against the rape and murder of 6-year-old Zainab Amin in Kasur.
