Man dies in Mumbai MRI scanner

A man has died after allegedly being sucked into an MRI scanner at a hospital in Mumbai.

Police have launched an investigation following the incident on Saturday 27 January in which 32-year-old Rajesh Maru lost his life. 

Rajesh was visiting his mother, who had been admitted into the hospital. A member of staff told him to carry an oxygen cylinder into the room which was attracted by magnetic force by the MRI machine. 

He reportedly died within two minutes. 

Rajesh's brother-in-law blamed the "carelessness" of the hospital's doctors and administration for the tragedy.
