Man hit with cricket ball beaten to death by boy in New Delhi

A 22-year-old was beaten to death by a juvenile in north Delhi after the man was angered by being hit with a cricket ball.

Police said Angad Gupta left his home yesterday, 28 June, and was talking on the phone when he was hit by the ball. Allegedly he called out to the boys playing cricket to be more careful.

Reports say that Gupta was later sitting outside of his uncle’s house when one of the boys approached him and began an argument. A fight broke out which left Gupta lying bleeding on the floor. He was taken to hospital but sadly died before he arrived.

An officer said the juvenile was arrested as the boy was preparing to flee the city. He has been charged with culpable homicide.
