Monsoon rains spark fear in Chennai

Heavy monsoon rains have caused fear for the residents of Chennai in southern India.

Flights were delayed, schools and colleges were shut and waterlogged roads led to severely congested traffic across the city.

The floods are a major concern for the city, as severe levels of rainfall in 2015 led to more than 100 people being killed.

Further rain is forecast but the city's municipal commissioner said there was no need for panic and that the water should recede.
