Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cast his vote in the country’s general election.
The leader of the governing BJP attending a polling station in his home state of Gujarat in the third phase of what is billed as the world’s largest democratic exercise.
Mr Modi is contesting from Varanasi, which goes to the polls on 19 May.
India's main opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi, is appearing on the ballot in Wayanad in the southern state of Kerala for the first time on 6 May.
The seven-phase vote to elect a new lower house of parliament will continue until 19 May, with votes counted on 23 May.
