A former Indian cricket star has arrived in Lahore to take part in a ceremony celebrating the construction of a new border crossing between Pakistan and India.
Navjot Singh Sidhu accepted the invitation to witness the ground-breaking of the Kartarpur Corridor by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday 28 November.
The new crossing will allow Indian Sikhs access to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur - one of the religion’s holiest shrines.
Dawn News reports that Sidhu thanked the prime minister and, while speaking to journalists upon crossing the Wagah border, said that he had brought with him "a message of love and peace".
