The ousted prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, was officially indicted by an accountability court in Islamabad.
Sharif, his daughter Maryam and her husband, retired Captain Mohammad Safdar, all plead not guilty to charges relating to the acquisition of luxury apartments in London.
The family’s finances became subject to scrutiny following the publication of the controversial Panama Papers in 2016.
The former prime minister is currently in the United Kingdom. A pleader, Zafir Khan, represented his not guilty plea.
