Nearly forty injured in Karachi Independence Day celebrations

At least 39 people were injured by falling bullets as shots were fired into the air in Karachi to celebrate on the eve of Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The injuries took place in different parts of the city, including North Nazimabad, Korangi and New Karachi areas.

In December 2017, the Sindh government had imposed a ban on aerial firing in an attempt to reduce such incidents.
