A Lahore court has sent nearly 100 activists from the political party Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to jail on judicial remand.
Dawn News reports that 92 people were arrested a day earlier for trying to block an armoured vehicle carrying the party chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi following his appearance before an anti-terrorism court.
Rizvi had been brought to the court for the hearing of a case registered against him and five other party leaders for damaging public property during protests against a Supreme Court verdict that acquitted Aasia Bibi in a blasphemy case.
A case will be heard against the arrested activists on 19 February.
