A case of the deadly Nipah virus has been confirmed by authorities in India.
A 23-year-old college student in the southern state of Kerala tested positive for the virus after being admitted to hospital.
Over 80 people, among them 22 students, are now also under surveillance.
A government official stressed that the situation should not cause panic.
17 people died from the virus in an outbreak last year.
