The Indian embassy in Tokyo on Monday confirmed that the number of Indians, who tested positive for Covid-19 onboard a quarantined cruise ship moored off the Japanese coast, has increased to six.
Regarding the development, the embassy released a statement saying: “The number of Indians tested positive for COVID-19 now stands at 6.
“The 4 crew members who tested positive earlier continue to get treatment and their condition is stable."
The embassy said that 99 new positive Covid-19 cases were confirmed yesterday, taking the total tally to 454.
The four Indian nationals that tested positive earlier are responding well to treatment, with the embassy stating their conditions are stable.
The embassy also stated that they are in constant contact with the Japanese government and ship management company in order to stay updated on the situation.
