Pakistan’s Supreme Court has granted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif bail to obtain medical treatment.
Sharif has been allowed six weeks against two surety bonds of Rs5 million each and must remain in the country.
If he fails to surrender at the end of the term he will be arrested.
Sharif is serving a seven-year prison sentence awarded to him by an accountability court over a corruption case.
The 69-year-old’s physician said he is suffering from heart ailments.
