Doctors in Pakistan are to hold a province-wide strike after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s health minister’s bodyguards assaulted an assistant professor at a medical ward.
It is claimed a heated exchange took place between the minister, Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan, and Dr Ziauddin Afridi during a hospital visit.
Dr Khan’s bodyguards are accused of then assaulting Dr Afridi.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Doctors Council has announced its members will hold a strike until a First Information Report into the matter is registered by police.
