A journalist in Pakistan managed to escape an abduction attempt in Islamabad.
Taha Siddiqui has said he was beaten by 10 to 12 men, who also threatened to kill him, as he was making his way to the airport. Reports say he jumped out of a moving vehicle to escape.
Mr Siddiqui has recently featured in a BBC article about press freedom in Pakistan. He says he is now “safe with police”, who are investigating the incident.
