Pakistan journalist shot dead in monetary dispute

    A journalist who worked for a Lahore newspaper was shot dead over a money dispute.

    Police say Zeeshan Ashraf Butt had travelled to the town of Begowala in Sialkot on a personal visit.

    It is claimed he entered into an argument with the chairman of the town’s union council Imran Cheema allegedly over a monetary dispute.

    Mr Cheema is accused of shooting Mr Butt and leaving the scene whilst firing into the air.

    Police moved the body to a local hospital for an autopsy and have begun an investigation.
