Police in Indian-administered Kashmir have blamed Pakistani militants for the murder of a prominent journalist in Srinagar.
Shujaat Bukhari was shot whilst leaving his office on 14 June.
A police official claims they have identified four suspects from the Lashkar-e-Taiba group. The outfit has denied any involvement and no other group has claimed responsibility.
They added that one of the suspects escaped from police custody in January 2018, while two of them are Indian nationals who had joined the Pakistan-based group.
The BJP citied Bukhari’s murder as one of the reasons that added to the decision to pull out of a governing coalition in the region.
