Pakistan Zainab killer hanged

Pakistan have hanged a man convicted of a rape and murder which sparked outrage across the country.

Imran Ali was arrested after the body of six-year-old Zainab Ansari was found in a garbage dump in the city of Kasur.

He was executed in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat prison.

After he was sentenced to death for raping and murdering Zainab, Ali was convicted for similar crimes against six more girls.

His appeals against the verdict failed and earlier this month President Arif Alvi rejected a plea for clemency.
