The woman widely hailed as Pakistan’s ‘Mother Theresa’ has died at the age of 87.
Ruth Pfau, a German doctor and nun, set up leprosy clinics across Pakistan starting in the 1960s, leading to the disease being declared under control in 1996.
Dr Pfau was born in Leipzig in 1929 and saw her home destroyed in bombing during World War Two.
She died at a hospital in Karachi, after being admitted on Friday, 4 August.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi led tributes, saying Dr Pfau "may have been born in Germany, but her heart was always in Pakistan".
