Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced that it will be launching a movement against the federal government with a protest in Nawabshah on Friday against the arrest of party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other opposition leaders.
The party says the day of action will also display opposition against the recently announced budget and what it alleges is a plan to roll back the 18th Amendment.
The amendment removed the power of the President of Pakistan to dissolve the Parliament unilaterally, turning Pakistan from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary republic.
