A local government minister in Pakistan has resigned amidst a backlash against remarks he made about Hindus.
Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, from the ruling PTI party, has been the subject of intense criticism over his derogatory remarks directed against the Hindu community while addressing an event in Lahore on 24 February.
It is understood he conflated Indians with Hindus when responding to India's rhetoric in the aftermath of the Pulwama bombing.
