Religious and political personalities have been banned from entering the campus of Punjab University.
Police were called to the incident and the crowd was dispersed using tear gas. It is believed that at least ten people were injured.
The university administration has altered regulations so that students’ parents now have to submit a testimony to ensure their children will not instigate or be involved with any political activity. They have also banned all forms of student programmes within the institution whilst also prohibiting the entrance of students' guests inside the university hostels.
