Seven police officials in Karachi have been suspended following a recent rise in street crime.
Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial removed the station house officers from their posts due to the alleged failure to sufficiently control lawlessness in the city.
Local reports say the minister was responding to complaints raised against the officers and concerns over the behaviour of police station staff towards citizens.
The decision comes a day after over half a million rupees were stolen in a bank heist in the Kharadar area, believed to the sixth heist in Karachi this year.
