Sridevi: ‘case closed’ in Bollywood star’s death

The case into the death of Bollywood star Sridevi Kapoor has been closed.

Police in Dubai have concluded the 54-year-old died on Saturday 24 February "due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness".

She was found in a hotel bathtub in the United Arab Emirates whilst attending the wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah.

The full post-mortem report has not yet been released to the public and will be expected to explain how the original report of cardiac arrest and the listing of "accidental drowning" are linked.
