Authorities in Indian-administered Kashmir claim three militants have been killed in two separate encounters in the south of the region.
A soldier from the Indian Army was also killed in the gun battles in Kulgam and Pulwama districts.
Officials said a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter sites.
Hindustan Times reports that at least 29 people, including 19 militants, seven civilians and three security forces personnel have been killed in the Kashmir Valley since 15 November.
