At least 22 people have died in heavy rains and landslides in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
Authorities were forced to open 22 dams in the region due to the incessant rainfall, including the Idukki reservoir - Asia’s biggest arch dam - for the first time in 26 years.
3,000 people were evacuated to safer areas and 130 temporary shelters have been opened as weather forecasters predict further rainfall.
