A forensics team in India have made a breakthrough in the murder case of one of the country’s most prominent journalists.
Gauri Lankesh was found dead outside of her home in September 2017 after being shot. Police now say the same weapon was used to kill Malleshappa Kalburgi, a rationalist scholar, in 2015.
Both were murdered in the southern state of Karnataka.
Reports say they had angered Hindu right-wing groups for their views criticising Hindu extremism.
